Summary of PL Policy
NGO Insurance
As part of NGO membership, eligible members benefit from Public Liability insurance arranged for the benefit of members by the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation, with advice and support from QPI Limited.
This cover is intended to protect members where they become legally liable for accidental injury to another person or accidental damage to third-party property arising from covered gamekeeping, shooting or recognised countryside activities, subject always to the full policy terms, conditions, exclusions and limits.
The policy includes cover for a range of occupational and/or recreational activities undertaken by members, including:
driven shooting, walked-up shooting and rough shooting, including beating and picking up;
wildfowling, clay pigeon shooting and target shooting;
deer management, stalking and controlled deer culling;
vermin and pest control, excluding poisons;
fishing and angling, including sea fishing from the shoreline only;
tracking wounded deer with dogs;
dog training;
commonly recognised gamekeeping activities carried out in accordance with current UK legislation and regulations;
syndicate activities, where each individual member of the syndicate is also a member of the NGO.
The policy also includes a Public Highways extension for authorised persons only, relating to the humane dispatch and removal of deer and/or wildlife carcasses from public highways following road traffic accidents, under police authorisation.
The Public and Products Liability limit shown in the schedule is £10,000,000. Employers’ Liability cover is also shown in the schedule in respect of the Master Policyholder, but members should refer to the policy documents for the precise scope of cover and who is insured under each section.
This is a summary only. It does not replace the policy wording, schedule or Insurance Product Information Document. Members should read those documents carefully for full details of cover, limits, conditions, restrictions and exclusions.
The NGO is not providing insurance advice and does not underwrite, sell, arrange or administer the insurance. The NGO has purchased the cover for the benefit of its members using QPI Limited as its insurance adviser.
Members who require guidance, clarification or assistance should contact QPI Limited rather than the NGO.
