NGO Moorland Branch
About NGO
The NGO Moorland Branch was set up in 1999 when the former Moorland Gamekeepers' Association merged with the then two-year old NGO. Members of the MGA became members of the National Gamekeepers' Organisation and the longstanding MGA Patron, renowned conservationist David Bellamy, become Patron of the NGO overall. In constitutional terms, the NGO Moorland Branch is a special interest group within the overall NGO membership (just like the NGO Deer Branch).

JOINING THE NGO MOORLAND BRANCH
Most NGO Moorland Branch members are actively involved in gamekeeping on grouse moors but any member interested in the uplands can ask to join the NGO Moorland Branch at no extra cost.
When you do so, we log your interest in moorland on our members' database and will make sure you receive information of particular relevance to the uplands. Existing members can join the NGO Moorland Branch either by changing their membership details online in our Members Only area or by emailing the office: info@nationalgamekeepers.org.uk, or by calling the office on 01833 660869. Non-members wanting to belong to the NGO Moorland Branch should first join the NGO via this site and then register their interest in moorland when prompted to do so.
The NGO Moorland Branch has its own committee within which all matters moorland related are discussed and this advises the National Gamekeepers' Organisation National Committee on policy concerning the uplands.
The NGO Moorland Branch also produces and delivers training on moorland-related issues such as Heather Burning. We are delivering a best practice burning workshop, for details please visit the events section.
Nearly all the grouse keepers in England and Wales belong to the NGO Moorland Branch which is a strong representative voice for the proffession.
