New ambassador joins the the Gamekeepers' Welfare Trust team

Darren Preece is joining the Gamekeepers Welfare Trust (GWT) Team as Ambassador for the Midlands. Darren has been a single-handed keeper on the Normanton Shoot on the Leicestershire-Nottinghamshire border for 27 years, with a total of 38 years of gamekeeping experience under his belt.

Helen MJ Benson, GWT’s CEO, says “Darren’s been supporting and volunteering for us for over a decade now and we’re delighted he’s coming on board as a regional Ambassador for the Midlands. Like Steve Stringer, our Ambassador in Wales, Darren brings personal experience of the lifestyle and its challenges to the role. That experience and the ability to empathise with situations really is important: it means when people contact us, we ‘get it’, and that’s invaluable”.
