A full-time gamekeeper from Scotland is the lucky winner of a brand-new Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker Fluted Rifle in the Browning / National Gamekeepers" Organisation Deer Branch Prize Draw.

A full-time gamekeeper from Scotland is the lucky winner of a brand-new Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker Fluted Rifle in the Browning / National Gamekeepers' Organisation Deer Branch Prize Draw. Browning, who generously donated the draw prize, is a sponsor of the NGO Deer Branch and its official Rifle Partner. The winner can select a Browning X-Bolt rifle in the calibre of his choice.

Headkeeper Paddy Plested, who won the Browning X-Bolt rifle, said: "It's a huge surprise to have won the prize draw. No pun intended but it's genuinely a bolt from the blue. We have pretty much everything on the estate in Ayrshire where I work, so I haven't quite decided on a calibre for my new Browning X-Bolt. But it's a nice thing to mull over. Christmas has come early, for which I'd very much like to thank Browning and the National Gamekeepers' Organisation."

The National Gamekeepers' Organisation Deer Branch represents professional and recreational stalkers in England and Wales, as well as gamekeepers who control deer as part of their day-to-day work in wildlife conservation and habitat management. Stalking industry experts believe the NGO Deer Branch has more members actively engaged in deer management than any other organisation in the UK. The NGO's stalker members account for more than 50 per cent of the entire deer cull carried out in England and Wales.

David Stapley, UK Country Manager of Browning International, said: "Browning would like to congratulate Paddy Plested on winning the Browning / National Gamekeepers' Organisation Deer Branch Prize Draw. I am sure Paddy (when finally deciding on his calibre) will enjoy using the X-Bolt in all conditions. , Its Dura-Touch rubber coating and its stainless steel barrel and action are perfect for UK stalking conditions and of course its guaranteed 1 minute of angle accuracy straight from the box using premium ammunition (we suggest Winchester of course) will become a trusted friend for many years to come."

David Wiggins, Deer Branch Chairman of the National Gamekeepers' Organisation said: "My congratulations go to the winner. He's a lucky gamekeeper. I am sure Mr Plested will be very happy with the Browning X-Bolt. It is a lovely, straight shooting, dependable rifle from a company with a long and proud history in making quality firearms. My thanks to Browning, the NGO Deer Branch's Rifle Partner and sponsor, who were kind enough to make an X-Bolt available for the fund-raisng prize draw. Browning's support is very much appreciated by the NGO and its members."

The Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker Fluted rifle comes in a range of calibres (including 22-250, .223, .243, .270, 30-06 and .308 and 6.5x55) and has a factory threaded M14x1 muzzle. It features a rubberised Dura-Touch coating and stainless barrel and action for maximum weather protection, a detachable magazine, directional recoil pad and is double bedded for guaranteed MOA accuracy. For many stalkers, it is the finest sub 1000 rifle on the market today.

Since 1897, Browning has been designing and manufacturing some of the world's finest firearms and it is a tribute to the legendary John Moses Browning that his passion still lives on to this day and the Browning product is regarded as The Best There Is.
