It is thanks to the kind generosity of Mrs Newman that the Essex NGO Clay Shoot is able to take part at the wonderful setting of Ring Park. This is backed up by supportive sponsors including Oakwood Game Feeds, Anglia Game, Jack Pyke, Oakbank Game and Conservation, and Eley Cartridges, who supply cartridge prizes to the winners.
One outstanding mention must go to Stuart Clarke who shot the Open, which he won on a (joint-winning) score of 59. Geoff Garrod reports that performance of the day must go to Stuart, who also shot a straight 10/10 in the three-way shoot off for the final of the pool shoot. Scott Shuckford was the winner of the gamekeeper prize, on a score of 54.
“It was remarkable shooting on the targets that were set, so hats off to Stuart for that.”
In total the shoot raised around £2,500 for the NGO. “I’d like to thank every person that turned up and supported us, because without the public support there’s no point us having clay shoot”, said Geoff. “So a big thank you to everyone who came and supported us, and hopefully next year will be even bigger and better.”
