The NGO can notify its members that today (3 March) revised advice on bird flu and gamebirds has been published. It should be read and followed by all those with gamebirds.
The National Gamekeepers’ Organisation can notify its members that today (3 March) a revised version of the document Bird Flu and Gamebirds has been published by Government and countryside and shooting organisations to reflect the new regulations on bird flu that came into force on 28 February 2017 in England, Wales and Scotland. New regulations will be put in place in Northern Ireland on 17 March 2017.
This latest advice replaces the original document issued on 13 January 2017.
A spokesman for the NGO said: "It is crucial that all those with gamebirds read and follow this updated advice, produced in conjunction with government and the shooting and countryside organisations, as H5N8 bird flu continues to circulate in wild birds in the UK. The document, Bird Flu and Gamebirds, provides UK-wide advice, but it is important that the content is read in its entirety as the advice provided differs, to some extent, in each of the home countries.”
