The Executive Director of the Deer Initiative, Peter Watson, will address the National Gamekeepers' Organisation Deer Branch General Meeting at Englefield Estate, Daintylands, Common Hill, Theal, Berkshire RG7 5JP on 7 May 2014. The meeting opens at 11am.
Afterwards, Browning, the NGO Deer Branch Rifle Partner, has kindly arranged for delegates to test fire through their own rifles its new range of Winchester Varmint X ammunition (in .223, .22-250 and .243 calibres). There will also be the chance to try out Browning rifles, including the Browning X-Bolt SF.
The General Meeting is open to all NGO Deer Branch Members. But delegates who wish to take advantage of the Browning live fire and zeroing session on the estate rifle range must RSVP by 1 May to tim.weston@nationalgamekeepers.org.uk or by post to The NGO, PO Box 246, Darlington, DL1 9FZ. Members must provide their full name and postal address. Member wishing to use their own rifle must state its calibre. Please note: ammuntion will only be available in .223, .22-250 and .243 calibres. Places are limited.
The National Gamekeepers' Organisation Deer Branch represents professional and recreational stalkers in England and Wales as well as gamekeepers who control deer as part of their day-to-day work in wildlife conservation and habitat management. The NGO Deer Branch is said by stalking industry experts to have more members actively engaged in deer manangement than any other organisation in the UK and who account for more than 50 per cent of the entire deer cull carried out in England and Wales.
The NGO Deer Branch General Meeting agenda includes: the Chairman's Address from David Wiggins, a review of the year for deer, a question and answer session with Peter Watson, Deer Initiative Executive Director, an overview of the Browning range of stalking rifles from David Stapley, UK Country Manager at Browning International, and details of the new NGO Deer Branch training opportunities for stalkers.
