The 2020 Joint Communication on Antibiotic Reduction in Gamebirds sets out a series of recommendations for those in the sector, with the aim of reducing the need to treat gamebirds with antibiotics (ABs).
Chairman of the NGO, Liam Bell, said: “Huge reductions in antibiotic use in gamebirds have already been made. We now want everyone to read this information, follow the recommendations and work together to help achieve the ambition to reduce antibiotic use by a further 40% by 1 January 2024. This will take a concerted effort by everyone.”
Along with the Game Famers Association (GFA), the NGO will encourage keepers to work closely with other keepers and their game farmers to share ideas to help achieve this target.
